The Eric Illjes Memorial Scholarship honors the remarkable life and lasting legacy of Eric Illjes — U.S. Army veteran, accomplished scientist, dedicated coach, and beloved mentor. His life was guided by the principle of service, whether to his country, his community, his students, or those in need around the world. It is the intent of the Donors that that the earnings of the fund be used to provide annual awards to students pursuing a degree in Marine Science. Recipients are expected to be full-time students in good academic standing with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
