John W. Searight Memorial Scholarship
The John W. Searight Memorial Scholarship was established in honor of Social Work Professor Emeritus John Searight. The scholarship celebrates his legacy of advocacy and provides vital support to students preparing to enter the profession. Professor Searight joined Stockton in 1973 and served as professor, dean, union president, and faculty assembly president. It is the intent of the Donor that the John W. Searight Memorial Scholarship be used to provide an annual award supports rising seniors majoring in Social Work, with preference given to students with financial need. Recipients are expected to be full-time students in good academic standing with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8.
