American Legion Post 430 Scholarship

The American Legion Post 430 Scholarship is an annual award for the benefit of student Veterans who were honorably discharged (disabled or active duty), that reside in Galloway Township, NJ and lived in Galloway Township, NJ at the time of service. If there are no applicants from veterans residing in Galloway Township, NJ, recipients may be chosen from veterans from Atlantic County, NJ. Must have lived in Atlantic County, NJ at time of service. If there are no applicants meeting the above criteria, then recipients can be selected from veterans residing in the state of New Jersey. Must have lived in the state of New Jersey at the time of service. When determining recipients the selection committee can give extra weight to applicants who demonstrate exceptional service and or achievement such as, but not limited to, Service Awards (Purple Heart, Bronze Star, etc.), Eagle Scout, Girls or Boys Stater and/or Community Service. Applicants are expected to have a minimum GPA of 3.0, be enrolled full-time as an undergraduate or graduate students, and demonstrate the need for financial assistance as per FAFSA (or equivalent measure).
