Victor Bressler

Dr. Victor Bressler enjoys a lifetime of achievement as a pioneer in healthcare for Southern New Jersey. Born in the Atlantic City Hospital, Dr. Bressler’s career spanned more than 60 years as a practicing physician and leader of the medical community. In 1972, Dr. Bressler and a group of physician sponsors established the South Shore Health Plan as a multi-specialty medical care group servicing the community. It was to become the area’s first state certified and federally qualified health maintenance organization (HMO). In 1986, the non-profit business corporation was transformed into a 501©(3) and granted a substantial amount of financial resources to The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey to establish the Southshore Foundation Health Education Scholarship endowment to support student of health-related fields of study such as gerontology, pre-medical, nursing, public health, speech pathology and audiology, physical therapy or social work.
