The Elizabeth O. Shear Foundation

Elizabeth Otis Shear was a longtime resident of Tuckerton, New Jersey. Throughout her life, Ms. Shear was dedicated to helping others, including her work with the local town doctor and demonstrated a commitment to care and community wellbeing. Elizabeth Shear believed strongly in the power of education to expand opportunity and create lasting impact. Through the Elizabeth Otis Shear Foundation, philanthropic support has focused on assisting high school students in Southern Ocean County as they pursue higher education, continuing her legacy following her passing in 2004. Today, the Foundation continues to advance Elizabeth Shear’s enduring commitment to education by extending its support to students at Stockton University, helping ensure that deserving students have access to the opportunities she so deeply valued.
