The Caplan and Kimble Families

The Caplan and Kimble Families established the Ronald L. Caplan Scholarship for Future Leaders in Public Health to recognize Dr. Ronald L. Caplan. Dr. Ronald L. Caplan earned the title of Professor Emeritus upon his retirement from Stockton University after more than 30 years of distinguished service (1994–2026) as an inspiring educator, scholar, mentor, and community leader. Throughout his career, he empowered generations of students to become leaders and change agents in public health by fostering knowledge building, critical thinking, and a commitment to creating healthier, more equitable communities. His scholarly contributions advance understanding of healthcare policy, health economics, holistic healthcare, and the economic history of American medicine through three books, numerous peer-reviewed publications, and professional presentations.

Dr. Caplan also translated academic expertise into meaningful community impact through his leadership as Director of the Health Administration track, co-founder of the Integrative Health Minor and the MBA in Healthcare Administration and Leadership (MBA-HAL) program, and service on several AtlantiCare boards, including as Chair of the Behavioral Health Board and Vice Chair of the Federally Qualified Health Center Board of Trustees.
