(PHOTO SHOWN IS GEORGE GREENMAN, deceased) This endowed scholarship was established by George Greenman (deceased) and upon his wife’s passing, their son, Allan Greenman, renamed the scholarship to honor both of his parents. George Greenman was an Atlantic City hotel operator who was instrumental in helping to develop the Holocaust Resource Center at Stockton. Born in Lodz, Poland, Mr. Greenman survived the Auschwitz concentration camp. He was liberated by the Russian army in 1945. He met and married his wife, Miriam, in a displaced persons camp in Germany between 1945 – 1949. They arrived in the United States in 1949 and bought a poultry farm. Eventually, they sold the poultry farm and the family invested in hotels in the Atlantic City area.
