Mary Brier
The Environmental Association of Ocean City Environmental Studies Scholarship is an endowment spearheaded by the late Mary Brier (1928-2019), founding director and established by the Environmental Association of Ocean City. Mary and the Association wished to perpetuate the organization’s good works by establishing an endowed scholarship for the Stockton University Foundation. The Environmental Association launched in 1977 and was granted non-profit status in 1978. By 1982, it was the leading force behind the historic restoration of the 59th Street Fishing Pier. The organization disbanded after 25 years of public service, in which it left its residual assets to fund the Environmental Association of Ocean City Environmental Studies Scholarship for deserving students. Family and friends of Mary continue to support this scholarship.
