Kris Arcuri

Marta “Kris” Arcuri established the Alan F. Arcuri and Linda J. Wharton Pre-Law Endowment in memory of her husband, Professor Alan F. Arcuri, who passed away on November 20, 2017, and in honor of Linda J. Wharton’s support of Alan’s vision and upon the occasion of her retirement from Stockton University.

Professor Arcuri was instrumental in establishing Stockton’s Pre-Law program. As Stockton’s Pre-Law advisor, he mentored scores of students on their path to law school and a career in law. Professor Arcuri worked tirelessly with students to enhance their chances of obtaining admission to law school. This award will positively impact student-awardees by enhancing their performance on the Law School Admissions Test (LSAT) or other equivalent standardized tests, a key factor in gaining admission to law school and receiving merit scholarships.

Since 2019, Professor Wharton, a close confidant of Alan, has presided over the Alan F. Arcuri Pre-Law Fund Awards. Her legacy at Stockton University, where she has taught for over two decades, lives in the Pre-Law Concentration, which she oversaw for many years as the Pre-Law Advisor. Professor Wharton’s lifelong commitment to gender equality and constitutional law is reflected in her stellar career in public interest law, scholarship, and teaching. Professor Wharton has mentored a number of students to prepare them for careers in the legal field. Over the past few years, recipients of the Alan F. Arcuri Pre-Law Fund were accepted to prestigious law schools at American University, Georgetown University, and Rutgers University.
