Jay H. Greenblatt

Mr. Jay H. Greenblatt established the M. Joseph Greenblatt Alliance Heritage Center Outreach Fund to support The Alliance Heritage Center of South Jersey as well as honor his father by endowing this fund in his name. Mr. M. Joseph Greenblatt was born in the Brotmanville section of the Alliance Colony in 1896 and resided there until he was an adult. He graduated from Bridgeton High School in 1914 and was a 1917 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Law School. A veteran of the United States Navy, he volunteered for service during World War I, serving in 1918 and 1919. Greenblatt was a successful and highly regarded lawyer in Vineland, NJ, and considered to be the dean of the Cumberland County Bar. He was the first chairman of the local Jewish Campaign for Palestine Relief and the last surviving founder of the Beth Israel Congregation in Vineland.
