Dr. Harvey and Mrs. Lynne Kesselman

The Lynne Kesselman `82/ M.A. `05 and Harvey Kesselman `79 Endowed Scholarship was established by the Kesselman family for the benefit of Stockton students. Leading under the guiding principle of “students first,” Dr. Harvey Kesselman presides over Stockton University as its fifth President. With beginnings as unique as the university itself, Dr. Kesselman is the only sitting university president to have been in the inaugural class of the very institution he serves. Dr. Kesselman graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science while Mrs. Kesselman attained both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Business Studies and Instructional Technology, respectively, from Stockton. Committed to advancing the University’s mission, Dr. Kesselman has successfully advocated for increased state appropriations, improved campus capacity, advanced University recognition and reputation, increased institutional giving, rededicated institutional commitment to shared governance and transparency, and developed stronger community and regional relationships. The Lynne Kesselman `82/ M.A. `05 and Harvey Kesselman `79 Endowed Scholarship exemplifies their commitment to making higher education more affordable for Stockton students.

Furthermore, the Kesselmans are passionate advocates for providing support to first-generation students. As first-generation students themselves, Dr. and Mrs. Kesselman seek to assist those Stockton students who are the first in their families to attend college. The Lynne Kesselman ’82/M.A. ’05 and Harvey Kesselman ’79 First Generation Endowed Scholarship Fund was started in 2020 to ensure opportunities for an ever-increasing number of first-generation students at Stockton.
